Some very good ways to get rankings and traffic for your site is to utilize Search Engine Optimization or SEO for your home business website. Whether we are talking about your website or different content that you are blasting out across the internet – content is King. While keyword density has lost its kick as of late, I still feel good keyword density is important.

If you are having trouble understanding the relevance of this information, let me explain. Let’s say you write an article and you’re looking to submit that article to an article directory like let’s say Go Articles. If you know after doing your keyword research that a certain keyword is a keyword that your target audience is typing into the search engines you’ll want to optimize your article for that keyword.

The way we do this is by making your keyword appear in the article a certain number of times in order for increase the chances of the search engines finding your article when someone searches on that keyword. That’s a basic breakdown in layman’s terms. Make sense?

So ideally you want to put your keyword in the article a certain number of times. I always shoot for a 2% keyword density. This simply means that you’ll put your keyword in once for every 100 words. There is a handy word count feature in Microsoft word that tells you how many words you have. Just click the “Tools” tab. Or you can use one of the many free tools online to tell you your exact keyword density. For the purpose of this article I’m not going to share any websites. I think you get the gist.

Keyword Density is simple. When you do this correctly, you’ll have visitors to your site in no time. You’re page rank will also increase. Best of all, most of this stuff can be done for free. There is nothing better than free traffic.
